Overview

The Assistant Program Director will expand Work Life’s focus on workplace well-being by building a sustainable welcoming and supportive community yielding improved organizational culture where people can flourish. Using research-informed interventions on how to improve systemic issues, this position will help create a connected and caring culture at NYU by using research, evaluation, programming, advising, and advocating for a healthier workplace. This will help eliminate barriers of success for faculty and administrators as well as students. Help to create a culture that promotes well-being and mental health, rendering the workplace more fulfilling and productive for all. It will build and grow NYU’s capacity to empower and support its employees, and advance the ideals of a caring organization where employees can thrive throughout all stages of life. Lead the evaluation and research initiatives of the Work Life office centered on workplace well-being and culture, which will help deliver a deeper impact and effectiveness of the office. Evaluate the evolving needs of NYU employees and partner with the Executive Director on insights and data interpretation. This is a fixed-term position through August 30, 2024.



Responsibilities

Required Education:
Master's Degree in social work, psychology, or public health

Preferred Education:
Doctoral Degree

Required Experience:
5+ years progressively responsible experience in academic administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A strong communicator and problem solver with a proven ability to handle multiple priorities under deadlines while maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail

Preferred Experience:
7+ years related experience

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Subject matter expertise in workplace interventions, intervention design and evaluation, implementation science, and workplace research. Clinical background to understand work-life and well-being issues and uses a human-centered approach to solutions. Background on workplace issues: lack of work-life integration; burnout; trauma; psychological safety; lack of community/connection; loneliness. Advanced research skills to evaluate the evolving work-life and well-being needs of the NYU working community. Must value and champion healthy work-life integration



Qualifications

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $90,000.00 to USD $110,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
