This role resides in the Alternative Investment Solutions Group within Goldman Sachs Asset Management's client business. The team is responsible for the sales, marketing and ongoing client support for the alternative investments offered by the firm through third party intermediaries such as banks, trust companies, broker-dealers, and registered investment advisors. Additionally, the team helps produce alternative investment related thought leadership content for both investment advisors and end investors to provide education on the alternative investment space.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

  • Partner with a senior Alternatives Specialist in a territory to collaborate with sales teams and drive alternative product sales by providing a high level of technical expertise across strategies to sales teams as well as directly to investment advisors and end investors. This will include communication of investment process, portfolio positioning, points of competitive differentiation, and analysis of investment results.
  • Demonstrate organized, efficient and effective territory management and sales skills on a consistent basis as well as executing consistent follow up to advance the sales process and deepen relationships
  • Display willingness to take on ownership by becoming a product expert and project managing fundraise campaigns
  • Elevate the product proficiency/effectiveness of Goldman Sachs Asset Management's sales professionals through content creation, ongoing product training, communication and the development of sales ideas and materials

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's degree (U.S. or equivalent)
  • 3+ years of financial industry experience
  • Series 7 and Series 63 licenses
  • Experience with alternative investment sales
  • Excellent analytical, communication (written and oral), organizational, interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with others
  • Attention to detail-proven experience of delivering high levels of accuracy
  • Knowledge and understanding of Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Team player and self-motivated, demonstrating a willingness to take on more responsibility over time
  • Strong work ethic and commercial perspective

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $100000-$170000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
