Organization Overview: The Goddard Riverside Community Center (Goddard Riverside) and the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) are well-established Manhattan community-based agencies that support services to approximately 30,000 New Yorkers. We are two of New York City’s leading human services organizations meeting the needs of children, youth and families, homeless individuals, and older adults through-out Manhattan and New York City. Program Description:Lincoln Square Neighborhood Center (LSNC), a community center located in the Amsterdam Houses and Amsterdam Addition on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, has been offering programs for children and their families for over 65 years. Currently, LSNC operates an After School Program and Summer Camp for children ages 5 through 12 offering academic support, cultural enrichment, and physical fitness programs.

Purpose of Position:The Receptionist will serve as the first point of contact for visitors and will perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks.

Schedule:Monday through Friday 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm (opportunity for additional hours).

Hourly Rate:$16.00/hour

Roles, Responsibilities, and Essential Duties

  • Will assist in monitoring the dismissal of children

  • Will assist in clerical work (filing, shredding, etc.)

  • Assist in creation of Monthly Calendars

  • Answer and direct phone calls

  • Write and distribute messages, letters and faxes

  • Sign for packages

  • Provide general support to visitors

    Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check (Fingerprinting), a Child Abuse and Maltreatment Check (SCR), a Staff Exclusion List Check (SEL)

  • DOI Fingerprinted/ PETS a plus

  • Current CPR/First Aid Training a plus

  • Current DOE & DOH mandated trainings a plus

  • Must be highly organized

  • Must have the ability to prioritize work load

  • Must be Patient

  • Must have a good sense of humor and enjoy working with children

  • Must be able to use tablet and online applications

  • Must be able to communicate effectively

  • Must have basic technology skills

    Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and bend up to 50lbs

  • Receptionist will work primarily at the Front Desk.
