Position Summary
This position will support the department by providing administrative support to our Heart Failure Transplant team within the division of cardiology. The primary role of the Administrative Assistant is to work with our Heart Failure Transplant team by providing administrative support; including making appointments for new and follow-up patients. The ideal candidate will bring a positive and caring attitude, excellent communication skills, attention to detail and previous experience in a fast-paced practice or hospital setting.

Responsibilities
Serve as administrative support for the heart failure and transplant program within Pediatric Cardiology
Monitor the physicians' daily patient schedules. Serve as the contact for scheduling follow-up appointments for office visits and procedures; and obtaining referrals and verification coverage if needed.
Review insurance information, obtain all necessary pre-certifications for procedures and other services, and obtain records and referrals information for patient appointments.
Verify patient information in Epic. Determine and collect insurance payments and co-payments.
Coordinate required patient documents to be scanned for Epic filing and designate to the appropriate personnel.
Assist Physicians and Nurse Practitioners as needed.
Conform to all applicable HIPAA, billing compliance and safety guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Epic Experience.
- Bilingual Preferred.
