Position: Executive Producer 

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid) 

Hours of Operation: 10:00am – 7:00pm ET 

*Pay Range: $169,000 - $195,000 USD annually  

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Executive Producer will oversee and maintain the operations of Method’s VFX and Post-production team and ensure success across the business by delivering the best quality work with great communication across all departments.  This involves the management of producers, supervisors, artists, the company’s financial status, client relationships and collaborative management for the direction, growth and vision of the company. 

MAIN DUTIES:

The ideal candidate will manage the current projects and accounts, as well as grow the business by working with the Managing Director, Sales Reps and EPs.  The EP will ensure projects are produced within approved budgets/deadlines. They will work to develop close relationships with clients and participate in the process of hiring crews, talent, and outside vendors when necessary.

  • Generate and maintain revenue for the company through client relationships, strategizing with Sales Reps/Managing Director/EPs/Head of Production to do so.

  • Bid new projects and help find leads/new work for the studio.

  • Help to promote the VFX Team, Creative Directors and VFX Supervisors to the larger industry, and develop sales strategies, promotional ideas, and new ways of thinking to enhance the status of the team within the industry.

  • Oversight of any live action shoots, including working with a line producer to accurately bid the shoots and track them so they come in on or under budget.

  • Gather and distribute to EPs, Head of Production, Producers all key information (i.e., boards, creative expectations, schedule, transfer and delivery requirements) necessary to bid and manage all projects in the most efficient manner.

  • Encourage and mentor the growth of early career/developing producers, coordinators, and artists.

  • Help assign producers to projects and oversee their progress on assignments.

  • Manage the budgets for each project from start to finish, and ensure proper overages are being presented when needed. 

  • Help the producers to maintain profit margin for each project bid.

  • Work with the Managing Director to establish all project margins, budgets, and discounts.

  • Work with legal/security to ensure compliance, all processes are considered, and all projects are run above board and by the book.

  • Work with Accounting to make sure the billing is properly done in accordance with the client’s needs.

  • Communicate changes in projects to department leads and management.

  • Maintain a positive client relationship through both written and verbal communication as well as high levels of client satisfaction by accurately fulfilling client needs and resolving problems quickly and efficiently.

  • Complete additional duties as required.

WHAT YOU BRING:

The ideal candidate will be experienced in overseeing a VFX team comprised of Creative Directors, VFX Supervisors, Flame Artists, CG Artists, Designers, etc. They will possess previous client relationships, and a strong understanding of advertising agencies, production companies, directors and key industry talent. As well as have a strong knowledge of the VFX pipeline, as well as experience overseeing large VFX teams and creatives on large-scale projects. Additional desired skills include:

  • Ability to assemble pitch decks, sales decks, Keynote/Powerpoint presentations.

  • Ability to command a room and conduct screenings with agencies, production companies and brand direct clients.

  • Experience working with Directors and helping them put together treatments that will win the company new work.

  • Ability to work with other EPs/HOP and collaborate as part of a leadership team.

  • Experience working on and assisting to bid live action shoots with the help of a line producer.

  • Experience in a fast-paced post-production environment.

  • Strong experience in a supervisory role at a VFX house or post-production vendor.

  • Ability to create and maintain a positive working environment and to motivate the team to contribute at their highest and most efficient capacity.

  • Strong computer skills, including experience using MS Office, Google Docs and other production software.

  • Demonstrated superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are needed. 

  • Proven planning and problem-solving abilities are required.

  • Very strong ability to identify clear priorities and to meet department goals.

  • The ability to work flexible hours if necessary.

  • Ability to travel as needed, and to attend client outings including lunches, events, parties, etc.

  • Experience with CETA a plus.

The benefits for eligible part-time employees working 25 or more hours per week and full-time employees in the US include a comprehensive package of health, retirement, and insurance benefits and paid time off.
