Purpose

The Senior Manager will be a key part of Risk Reporting function under the Strategic Initiatives team, which provides day-to-day strategic support to execute the U.S. Risk Management’s mandate and ensure specific goals, plans, and initiatives are achieved. The Senior Manager will be primarily responsible for regular and ad-hoc risk reports to management and board level committees and other regulatory bodies, working with various stakeholders. The Senior Manager will also provide administrative support for business management activities as needed.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and oversee monthly/quarterly/ad-hoc risk reporting for various management and board level committees and regulatory bodies.

  • Committee schedule calendar management

  • Agenda setting and tracking

  • Development of presentation materials (including compilation of various risk team’s report submission as well creation of new contents)

  • Meeting minutes drafting

  • Responding to audit / regulatory inquires on committee meeting materials

  • Other admin activities such as committee membership attendance tracking, charter update, recordkeeping, etc.

  • Execute business management accountabilities may include, but not limited to, the following.

  • Townhalls and other people engagement activities

  • Business continuity plan

  • Budgeting and resourcing

  • Support special projects as needed.

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

What You’ll Bring

  • 7-10 years of experience preferably within the financial services industry

  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, PowerBI, etc.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Holds a problem-solver mindset that creates/implements new solutions and motivates others

  • Highly organized with attention to details

  • Team player

  • Ability to prioritize and operate proactively

  • Understands the importance of being well organized while being in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment
