Amazon Senior Financial Analyst in New York City, New York

Description

Amazon seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to be a key partner for the high growth Sponsored Advertising business directly supporting the Creative Experience product org.

This role will play a key role in evaluating ambiguous and complex opportunities in how our customers advertise on Amazon, creating models and reporting mechanisms that make our data more actionable, developing and communicating business insights through data analytics, and own reporting functions during the various business review and planning phases.

The successful candidate will have shown experiences in past roles influencing business owners and supporting decision-making in rapidly evolving environments. This role also has regular interaction with executives and various business units across Amazon and therefore requires strong interpersonal and communication skills. In addition, this role requires strong business sense and capability to independently drive business partnership. Experience with big data using scalable analytics tools are a must.

Key job responsibilities

  • Manage financial and operational performance metrics for the business e.g. weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews

  • Partner with Interactive Video Ads product team to anticipate business requirements, trends, and variances; develop action plans; measure and analyze initiatives and results; identify and drive growth and improvement opportunities

  • Support growth of the advertising business by evaluating and understanding shopper and advertiser needs and value drivers, supporting strategic initiatives, and forecasting high impact growth strategies

  • Uphold and enforce an environment of strong financial controllership

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to assist in simplifying and scaling our business through thoughtful analyses and partnerships with different stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)

  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • 2+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience

  • 2+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Knowledge of Tableau

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
