Job Description
General Description
The Lehman Adult Learning Center seeks dynamic ESOL teachers for part-time employment starting September 2024.
The teacher will provide ESOL instruction to adults. Must be creative, proactive, organized, and committed to learner-centered, participatory education.
Duties include, but not limited to:
Create and implement student-centered lessons with a thematic focus;
Maintain accurate attendance records;
Assess students’ work and provide feedback on an ongoing basis;
Attend staff meetings;
Participate in program-wide events and activities;
Attend Professional Development workshops as required;
Administer BEST Plus tests and participate in registration and orientation;
Work collaboratively with all ESOL teachers to share curriculum ideas, lesson plans, and classroom management strategies.
Other Duties
Other duties as needed.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must:
have prior experience teaching in Adult ESOL classrooms in person and on Zoom,
a bachelor's degree, and
be creative, proactive, organized, and committed to learner-centered, participatory education.
A Master's Degree or Certification in ESOL instruction is preferred

About the Research Foundation
