This individual will serve a key function in managing as well as working on traffic & parking studies, master planning studies, traffic event management studies, and traffic signal/roadway design and infrastructure projects. In this role, you will have the opportunity to manage and deliver on multiple high-profile and challenging traffic and transportation projects both locally and internationally.Job ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and perform the planning, analysis, design and permitting tasks for traffic/transportation engineering, land development, master planning, parking and infrastructure projects;Manage and deliver on multiple projects and tasks within specific budgets, schedules, and deadlines. Prepare progress reports and draft change order requests. Prepare draft invoices, project billings, and assist in payment collections;Coordinate and work with staff to determine the feasibility of projects based on the analysis of preliminary data and to prepare and modify reports, specifications, plans, and design for projects;Organize, write, and edit draft proposals, reports, memoranda, and Traffic Impact and Parking studies;Participate in the identification and pursuit of new business opportunities and attend business development meetings to pursue new clients;Provide direct oversight and management of junior staff for specific project assignments. Coach, train, and motivate staff assigned to Traffic/Transportation, master planning and parking projects. Participate in interviewing and hiring staff;Interface effectively and professionally with clients, contractors, subcontractors, staff, project personnel, supervisors, and other office locations/disciplines. Actively participate in internal and external technical presentations and produce written articles for internal and external publications; andPerform other duties as requested.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; LEED AP; Master's Degree in Civil Engineering preferred;Possess valid Professional Engineer licensure;6+ years of experience in road, intersection, and traffic infrastructure design;Ability to effectively manage multiple clients and projects and to develop and manage project budgets;Experience with HCS, SYNCHRO, SimTraffic, traffic computer modeling and simulation software is required;Ability to coach and assist with the management of staff;Excellent written and verbal communication skills;Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities;Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment;Ability to participate in team meetings and conference calls in international time zones;Ability to travel and participate in field work; andPossess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver’s license in good standing.Langan provides a rich array of programs and benefits to help its employees advance their careers and enhance the quality of their lives. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills. This position is also eligible to participate in the firm's annual bonus and performance review program. Bonuses are discretionary and based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm.
