TITLE: Director, Canadian Equity Sales, U.S.

DUTIES: Scotia Capital (USA), Inc. seeks Director, Canadian Equity Sales, U.S. in New York, NY to contribute to the overall success of the GBM Equity Sales and Trading business in the U.S. ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensure all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. Coordinate firm's efforts to service U.S. based Institutional clients daily. Develop knowledge of client’s needs and requirements to increase the depth/penetration of coverage of existing and new clients. Respond to specific client requests in a timely and efficient manner. Work in partnership with sales, research, and trading professionals to deepen Scotiabank's relationship with the assigned client organizations and to deliver coordinated services. Deliver the firm's research to institutional clients, recommending specific investments that correlate with the client's investment style. Help generate the Sales desk's best investment ideas that engage institutional investors and help in the process of realizing attractive investment returns.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or a related field and seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation: covering institutional clients for equity products transactions; leveraging corporate relationships to support ECM and Investment Banking through delivery of corporate access and non-deal roadshows; leveraging research and building independent and creative investment ideas for clients in alignment with their business models; supporting IPOs and new issuance offerings; constructing daily Canadian-specific morning notes for institutional equity clients; working directly with other members of the equity sales team that focus on different regions to generate and execute cross-sell opportunities for the bank; generating reverse indications of interest from our U.S. institutional clients to help support our ECM and banking efforts. The salary offered is between $300,000 and $300,000 per year, 40 hours per week. 20% of travel is required, both internationally and domestically Telecommuting and/or working from home may be permissible pursuant to company policies. When not telecommuting, must report to work site. In the alternative, employer will accept three (3) years of study toward a Bachelor’s degree in one of the above-listed fields and two (2) years of related experience in the above listed skills to satisfy the educational requirement.
