Hyatt Area Human Resources Manager in NEW YORK CITY, New York

This position will support The Chatwal, New York hotel & The Chatwal Lodge, The Catskills hotel for all Human Resources functions.

The ideal candidate for the Area Human Resource Manager position will have experience in all areas of the Human Resource function, including experience working in a union environment. The position responsibilities include benefit administration, compensation, recruitment and retention, employee/labor relations, counseling, safety and training/development. This position will report to the Area Director of Human Resources.

Additionally, ideal candidates should have previous experience and knowledge with the following systems:

  • Taleo

  • ADP EV6

  • HireRight

  • Equifax

  • MySedgewick

  • WFM Dimensions

Salary/ Benefits:

We offer competitive salary, medical, dental, life insurance, short term and long-term disability, 401(k), and travel benefits. The salary range for this this position is $70,000 - $85,000. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors including experience and education.

Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • 2 years or more of HR experience in a luxury/ boutique hotel preferred.

  • a 4-year college degree; or a 2-year college degree and 2 or more years of related experience.

  • In-depth NYC market knowledge strongly preferred with a union environment.

  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must be proficient in general computer knowledge including Microsoft Suites, Outlook, excel, etc.

  • Outstanding customer relations, communication, presentation, and organizational skills are of utmost importance.

  • Must possess the following strengths: high energy, results driven, passion, motivational leader, effective and open communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service.

  • Refined verbal, written, and presentation skills in English.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.

  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.

  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.

  • Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.

  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.

  • Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.

  • Must be solution oriented, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.

  • Must be able to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.

  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.

  • Perform other duties and special projects on a case by case basis.
