Job Description
Danfoss is looking for an experienced, results-oriented Application Engineer with technical expertise and industry knowledge of the thermal management of hyperscale data centers – specifically, rack-based servers employing liquid cooling technologies .
The Application Engineer will act as the subject matter expert on single-phase and two-phase liquid cooling applications within hyperscale data centers providing technical & operational support, identifying product solutions to meet application requirements, and contributing to business development initiatives. The engineer will be responsible for a range of tasks from on-site customer support to market analysis, ensuring the delivery of high-value solutions and maintaining strong customer relationships.

Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following.
Act as the subject matter expert on all matters related to single phase and two-phase liquid cooling applications within hyperscale data centers, including primary and in-rack cooling solutions
Identified within and outside the team as a product and technical resource for thermal management applications
Identify and drive new business opportunities – bringing value to our customers via smarter and energy efficient products and systems
Meet with customers on-site to review application requirements identifying product solutions and product gaps for their given system needs
Review project specifications, drawings, RFPs to determine best solutions for customer critical space needs. Collaborate with engineering, drafting, manufacturing plants and procurement during quote phases to achieve the most cost-effective quotes, offering the customer the best value-added solution. Provide monthly updates on quote requests, turnaround times, closure rates for requests
Translates customer requirements into identifying existing products or to work with engineering on internal designs using existing company design standards. Establishes BOMs, calculates component costs and establishes selling prices within established guidelines. Performs competitive analysis to determine market price levels
Create and develop customer presentations, ROI (Return of Investment Analysis), Project submittals, MOPs (method of procedure) and any other technical information required by customers to ensure application support and ongoing business development wins
Ability to layout multiple large-scale projects and manage timelines and milestones appropriately that meet customer’s expectations. Accomplish daily tasks without any guidance from a supervisor and/or manager
Work closely with China based manufacturing plants and commercial team to share customer information, product forecasting volumes, project launches, etc.

English and Chinese proficiency
To be successful, we expect you to possess a bachelor’s/master’s degree (engineering discipline preferred)
3-5+ years of experience with data center infrastructure design objectives, performance factors, and physical requirements. Preferred experience with single phase and two-phase liquid cooling applications.
Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to communicate effectively at different levels and with different stakeholders completing and presenting value add presentations internally and externally.
Strong and pragmatic troubleshooting, problem solving and root cause analysis skills, ability to recognize "big picture".
Experienced in reading and drafting drawings in CAD software, preferred in PRO-E.
Experienced in using MS Office Tools
Trade group affiliation or familiarity (ASHRAE, AHRI, DOE, Energy Star, Open19, OCP)
