Abbott Ethical Sales Director in New Taipei City, China

JOB SUMMARY

Overall responsibility for sales management of Ethical Channel and team, leading the team to achieve and exceed sales target within the budgeted cost and the framework of the division, and impact Health Care Professionals scientific recommendation. Coverage for government, ethical channels and HCPs, targets for hospitals seminars, clinical evaluation, nutritional education activities and generating consumer database. Develop sales forecast, determine and allocate sales referrals/targets, identify business opportunities and recommend business strategies to management.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, formulate and implement sales strategies to meet corporate and division objectives and mission. Provide leadership and direction to the team to achieve sales, margin and market share goals.

  • Identify new ethical channel opportunities, lead, monitor and motivate staff to attain these initiatives.

  • Organize company sponsored medical, nutrition and community events to build Abbott brand image and corporate goodwill and appropriately representing Abbott at industry, academic, and regulatory forums when needed.

  • Maintain and develop relationships with key opinion leaders, relevant authorities and the public.

  • Develop and implement short term and long term pricing strategies, sales conditions & tender prices, monitor competitive market situations.

  • Closely monitor budgets and expenditures to ensure that resources are spent in line with business plan.

  • Effectively manage and ensure that all ethical channel activities conform to company OEC and local government code of ethics.

  • Work closely with Adult and Pediatric marketing to align key strategy, plan and KPI development. Implement long and short-term strategic business plans and programs to achieve various ethical channel related targets;

  • Effectively engage cross-functional team to gain support and facilitate achievement of ethical sales operation objectives.

  • Foster a working environment to attract, retain talents and maintain a strong Sales Organisation.

  • Coach, develop and motivate staff so as to achieve top performance. Support employees in implementing development plans.Identify and develop succession plan and address staffing issues in a proactive manner.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s Degree in Business management, medical or nutrition sciences preferred

EXPERIENCE /QUALIFICATION

  • Exceptional sales and business management experience in multinational corporate with minimum of 12 years relevant experience. Pharmaceuticals or healthcare industry preferred

  • In-depth understanding and experience in P&L, budgeting, planning and forecasting

  • Strong strategic thinking & able to develop sound strategic plan.

  • Focus on execution excellence with sales force excellence tools & process, close monitor & in-field coaching.

  • Sharp analytical and business building skill

  • Strong leadership skills. Able to set the agenda based on relevant insights, develop & take others with them to deliver strong results.

  • Customer focus. Able to understand customer’s needs & insights, identify joint business opportunities & develop sustainable partnership with both internal & external customers.

  • Innovative. Willing to challenge status quo, think differently & develop new growth ideas.

  • Strong desire to win, grow & deliver both business & people results.

  • Able to build & develop the team through training, coaching & OTJ assignment

  • Excellent command of English, Chinese and Mandarin

  • Good understanding of IT related sales system & solutions.

  • Sales, share, margin, forecast accuracy, HCP recommendation, customer satisfaction, productivity & turnover
