Global Merchant Services (GMS) is the merchant acquirer, processor and marketing partner for the millions of merchants around the world who accept the American Express Card.

The Senior Financial Analyst of the Lead Financial Office (LFO) – APAC serves as a critical member of the LFO team providing support for all financial business analysis, consultative decision support to the APAC leadership teams, and strategic analysis for the Global Merchant Services business in APAC. The role interfaces with the GMS Finance leadership team, the GMS APAC Vice Presidents and Directors, and various Finance HQ and Centre of Excellence teams.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to gain deep knowledge of the Merchant Services business, as well as exposure to and insight from business partners. The Analyst/Senior Analyst Finance should be a dynamic individual who can work closely with business partners, deliver superior analytics and manage complex tasks in a global organization.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing value-add analytical support to the APAC leadership teams to evaluate financial performance, and develop metrics with key business partners to actively manage the profitability of the merchant portfolio

  • Provide support on business case development for merchant value propositions and charge volume expansion opportunities

  • Provide support on all financial aspects of merchant deal negotiations, new business launches, and partner negotiations

  • Support Annual Planning, Investment Optimisation and Financial Outlook

  • Develop and regularly present analytics to leaders and interface with business partners

  • Evaluate and revamp all recurring processes and tools to drive efficiencies and sustainability

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills

  • Strong aptitude for analytics. Demonstrated ability to develop sophisticated financial models and draw value-add insights from large amounts of financial data.

  • Basis knowledge of SQL/ Cornerstone/ Tableau will be an advantage

  • Must be able to interpret financial results to non-finance colleagues and business partners with excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint. Experience in TM1 and Oracle a plus

  • Ability to work under time pressure and meet tight deadlines

  • Highly motivated with strong sense of accountability, initiative and a “can-do” attitude

  • Bachelor’s degree (Business/Finance/Accounting)
