Demand Planner

Responsible for evaluating the product demand of customers through coordinating the analysis of monthly demand and resolving gaps between the financial and statistical forecast.

This position reports into the Demand Planning Manager and is based in Ultimo.

What You Will Do

The Demand Planner is responsible for evaluating demand from customers, preparing comprehensive demand plans, facilitating forecast discussions, conducting monthly demand business reviews, and developing performance metrics in areas of quality, cost, and delivery. The role is also accountable for:

  • Forecast generation and maintenance as per internal IBP cadence

  • Partnering with regional Supply Chain team to ensure competitive and sustainable service levels with customers whilst achieving adequate inventory levels

  • Active project team participation in representing E2E Supply Chain for new product launch projects

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain demand forecasts for assigned products and customers based on historical data, market trends, and customer insights.

  • Partnering with Asia Pacific Supply Chain (APSC) team in delivering competitive and sustainable customer service levels

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate potential supply chain disruptions.

  • Analyze inventory levels and recommend strategies to optimize inventory turns and reduce excess and obsolete inventory.

  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators, such as forecast accuracy and inventory levels, to senior management.

  • Collaborate with the local rework planner to ensure efficient customer service outcomes for locally repacked products

  • Continuously improve demand planning processes and tools to increase efficiency and accuracy.

  • Provide input to sales and operations planning process to ensure alignment of demand and supply plans.

  • Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts for specific business unit(s) / product line(s) by analyzing internal capacity and aligning supply and demand to meet customer requirements

  • Track change orders with supply planning, operations engineering, manufacturing, warehouse, and field service personnel to ensure timely delivery of products

  • Collect and analyze data on performance metrics in areas of quality, cost, and delivery to support key supplier scorecards and business reviews

  • Assist in implementation of forecast improvements and preparation of monthly reports and demand management projects

  • Research and evaluate multiple statistical models to develop and drive consensus forecasts for assigned business segments

  • Facilitate interim forecast discussions and updates with supply chain partners and internal cross-functional business partners (marketing, sales, finance) to clarify demand requirements and drive improvements in forecast accuracy

  • Conduct monthly demand business reviews and coordinate the analysis of monthly demand to ensure accuracy and identify trends

  • Resolve gaps between financial forecast and statistical forecast and recommend when work should be outsourced if demand is projected to exceed capacity

  • Utilize statistical forecast input and performance data for use in sales and operations planning

  • Identify and make recommendations for forecast improvements

Qualifications

What We Are Looking For

Desired Qualifications

  • Tertiary degree with strong supply chain experience, ideally in Demand Planning

  • Experience working in Tier 1 FMCG company preferred

  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage external and internal stakeholders

  • Project management and problem-solving skills

  • Competency in Microsoft Office tools
