The second shift CNC Machinist I is an entry level, rotational role, responsible for learning and performing various tasks of CNC machining in the aerospace industry. The CNC Machinist I works with trainers and other leaders to ensure the machine shop meets daily production and quality goals. The CNC Machinist I reports to a Production Supervisor.

This position is part of the Pall Aerospace Machine Shop and will be located onsite in New Port Richey, FL. The work schedule is Monday thru Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, and overtime is routine. This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services. U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, protected person status, or U.S. Government export authorization is required. Any offer of employment is contingent upon Pall obtaining the necessary employment visa and export authorization, including, if required, an export license from the applicable U.S. government agency.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Further develop your CNC machining skills by rotating through the machine shop to perform basic set-up operations on Mills/Lathes to produce parts to pre-established quality and drawing standards while maintaining an acceptable production rate. This includes, for example, successfully working from 2 dimensional drawings to machine and deburr parts.

  • Perform in-process inspection and SPC (Statistical Process Control) using precision measuring tools and blueprints. Change off-sets as necessary to maintain quality; change worn tooling. Touch-off or qualify tooling in the machine with assistance. Promptly report all tooling or program problems to supervisor.

  • Complete all necessary paperwork associated with producing parts including scorecards, hazard recognition, routers and data, Red Tags, etc.)

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • High School diploma or equivalent (i.e. GED).

  • Successfully completed a CNC Apprenticeship program at a Trade School or similar apprenticeship training program.

  • Work overtime as required. Frequent bending, lifting and standing for extended periods of time; frequent lifting up to 20 lbs. from floor to bench; occasional lifting to 35 lbs. Good eye and hand dexterity.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Manufacturing
