Actalent Test Technician in New Paris, Indiana
Description:
The Validation Technician will conduct a variety of electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical tests on electronic systems, subassemblies, and parts to ensure unit functions according to specifications or to determine cause of unit failure. Will work alongside Test Engineer and 1 other Technician. Need to collect data and execute test plans written by engineer.
Day to Day:
75-80% of the role is software system testing
Following test plans targeted for software/system level testing
20% hardware testing, small amounts of hardware testing will be done but the vast majority is spent testing software and system
System testing- our controllers, connectivity on the network with building automation software interacting with the controller devices on the product
Testing where the controllers will be moving through menus on a user interface and making changes through the user interface and verifying that the changes occurred correctly and the menu structure functions as it should in terms of navigation

Electrical, Test, Validation, Electronics, Schematic, Oscilloscope, Test equipment, Soldering, Blueprint, Wiring, Calibration, Voltmeter, Multimeter, Troubleshooting, IP Networks, OS, Windows
Must Haves:
Familiarity with IP networks
OS- windows
IP network testing – multiple computers interacting
Tools: protocol monitors, protocol sniffers, Wireshark (or anything similar if familiar with IP networks)
Being able to set up an IP address to get it on the network
Experience with electronic test tools (oscilloscopes, voltmeters, multimeters, etc.)
