Duties: The Department of Digital Media & Journalism at the State University of New York (SUNY) at New Paltz invites applications for a renewable Lecturer in Digital Media Production with an expected start date of August 2025. The desired area of specialty is audio/video production, specifically using Adobe Suite as well as Avid and Pro-Tools. The position will include teaching beginning and intermediate production classes, such as Audio Production, Digital Storytelling, and Podcasting. The successful candidate will teach a 30-credit course load with opportunities for one or more course releases for service. The candidate will focus on Digital Media Production techniques including all phases of the production process, audio and visual components and various industry workflows.

We are particularly interested in filling the line with a candidate from groups traditionally underrepresented on college campuses, especially scholars committed to diversity and inclusion in their teaching. We seek a candidate that would complement the department faculty's strengths as a blend of active media practitioners/filmmakers, journalists, and media scholars. We desire a candidate who will create a climate that helps attract and is inclusive of all students.

Qualifications: Required:• An advanced degree (MA, MS or MFA) in Mass Media, Media Studies, Communication, or a related field.• The candidate should have at least five years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level and be able to work with- the changing landscape in production and post-production software.• The candidate should also be able to demonstrate a body of professional experience and work.
