Duties: The Department of Psychology at the State University of New York (SUNY) at New Paltz invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology, to begin in Fall of 2025. Standard course Ioad in the department is 3/3 and includes both undergraduate and Masters level courses.
Courses to be taught will include Psychopathology and/or other core courses such as History and Systems, Research Methods, or Introduction to Psychology. Additional courses may include Psychology of Testing, Behavior Modification, Personality, Internship, Crisis Intervention, and Mental Health Professions, as well as advanced courses related to the candidate's research interests. Other duties include advising students, mentoring undergraduate and graduate student research, and participating in departmental and college service. We seek candidates who will create a climate that helps attract and is inclusive of all students. Candidates are expected to develop an independent and productive research program and publish in peer-reviewed journals.
Qualifications: Required:• PhD in psychology, Exceptional ABD candidates with a firm completion date prior to 8/1/2025 will be considered• Must be committed to excellent teaching and demonstrate potential for research productivity, particularly involving student research collaborators
