Avanced culinary skills and in-depth knowledge about all the sections within the hot and cold kitchen Guest-focused, service-oriented, positive personality, professional appearance and impeccable hygiene standards, with excellent knowledge of all Public Health Policies are required. Must demonstrate the ability to work efficiently and productively in a team. Role Overview As part of our Mississippi Food and Beverage team your job as a Cook is to prepare delicious meals for our Guests and Crew according to the various recipes set out by the Executive Chef You will be reporting to the Assistant Chef de Parte You will be expected to work on a 16/4 rotaon (16 weeks on board and 4 weeks off on unpaid vacation). Please note that rotation lengths vary based on staffing and operational needs onboard Viking Mississippi Cook Role Expectations Prepare dishes at an advanced level, following company recipes and procedures with minimum supervision Ensure quality and presentation of food during food preparation and service hours Ensure economical work practices and control food production to minimize wastage Maintain food preparation and storage standards according to public health policies and company regulations Provide high level of comfort and service to guests with impeccable cleanliness and hygiene, including wearing appropriate PPE Enforce clean as you go work habits and maintain impeccable cleanliness and hygiene in assigned areas Uphold impeccable grooming standards at all times by complying with Vikings Image and Uniform Standards Demonstrate outstanding flexibility: able to work at different mes of the day, under pressure and always reflect a positive can-do attitude and the best image of Viking You will be expected to consistently arrive on time and be prepared for work Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned at leaders discretion based on operational needs Mandatory requirements and at will employment: U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (green card) to work onboard the ship, as required by federal regulations Ability to satisfactorily pass a pre-employment drug test.
