WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER The Land Steward ensures the coordination of land management activities on TNC lands across the state of Connecticut. This work includes maintenance of preserve areas and infrastructure frequented by the visiting public, maintenance of tools and equipment, the operation of heavy machinery, and assisting with habitat management. The Land Steward will perform annual preserve and easement monitoring, which involves communications with landowners and partners, ground and remote surveys, reviewing and upholding conservation restrictions (easements), submitting reports, and addressing legal/management issues in a timely manner. The Land Steward will work with and manage volunteers and lead small field crews to complete projects. Other duties will include trail maintenance, GIS data collection in Field Maps, and interacting with the public. WE'RE LOOKING FOR YOU The Land Steward will perform and participate in preserve and easement operations including the maintenance, management, and coordination of conservation programs across the state of Connecticut. WHAT YOU'LL BRING AS/Technical or vocational degree in science-related field and 1-year related experience in custodial and ecological land management or similar field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with natural systems. Experience in ecological land management principles. Experience operating and or repairing various types of equipment and machinery. SALARY INFORMATION The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $46,000-50,000 for annual base salary. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate's actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges.
