RAWHIDE YOUTH SERVICES Retail Automotive Technician in NEW LONDON, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Purpose The Retail Auto Technician supports the Vehicle Program by efficiently and accurately repairing vehicles, completing necessary production and regulatory paperwork, serving as a backup for multiple production jobs, working with WEP students, providing excellent customer service, proposing improvements, and maintaining a safe and clean work environment. Essential Functions Accurately diagnose automotive, marine, and small engine repair issues. Perform quality and cost-effective repairs. Complete required paperwork and data entry. Job Responsibilities Inspect and Repair Donated Items for Retail Online Sales Accurately diagnose repair issues. Repair donations (per state and federal regulatory requirements) for the following vehicle types: light trucks, automobiles, boats, motorcycles, small engines, equipment trailers, and campers. Fabricate parts, tools, accessories, etc., as needed. Assist with Creating Efficiencies Propose changes to improve production efficiencies, safety, internal and external customer service, and teamwork. Provide Quality Customer Service Assist with purchased donations and paperwork processing. Accurately communicate completed repairs in a timely and friendly manner to internal sales and external customers. Maintain a Safe and Clean Working Environment Comply with federal and state regulations and rules, Rawhide and Vehicle Program policies and procedures. Assist in investigating and resolving safety concerns. Support Production Team and Rawhide Mission Serve as a backup for Auto Technician, Lot Technician, or any production job as needed. Assist with Work Experience Students. Maintain Record Keeping Complete required paperwork and data entry. Maintain Inventory Monitor and purchase needed inventory stock, supplies, and tools. Help control costs by researching and examining multiple sources. Maintain Professional and Technical Knowledge Completing required trainings Attending educational workshops Reviewing professional publications Establish Personal Networks Participating in professional societies Maintain Staff Job Results Training and coaching support staff Establishing staff goals, monitoring progress, and providing feedback Appraising job results Protects the Credibility of the Rawhide Mission Complying with the Rawhide standard of conduct Setting an example, in words and actions, that is consistent with the values and beliefs of Rawhide Contributes to Team Effort Performing other duties as directed or assigned by supervisor ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Qualifications 1-3 years of experience as an automotive technician, mechanic, or in a similar field. Strong administrative and customer service skills. Experience in diagnosing and repairing engines. Working Conditions Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching. Ability to work in various positions, including under vehicles and in confined spaces. Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for using tools and equipment.
