Exotic Automation & Supply Retail Support Specialist in New Hudson, Michigan

General Summary:

Assists with the day-to-day operations of the counter sales and field service team.  Responsibilities include, but not limited to, ensuring delivery of excellent customer service, covering all Parker Stores as directed, responding to customer hose repair calls, truck maintenance, and inventory maintenance.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assists with the day-to-day operations of Parker Stores.

  • Responsible to respond to customer hose repair needs through utilization of equipment and Company processes.

  • Assists Service Coordinator with inputting hose doctor estimates and orders.

  • Responsible for hose fabrication while working in Parker Store.

  • Participates in coordinating truck maintenance.

  • Understands Parker products, offerings and other services that are available through the Company.

  • Creates and upholds corporate image appropriate for a Sales Representative.

  • Responsible for complete understanding of all policies and procedures within the department and corporation.

  • Sets up fitting bins, hose racks, organizing bins, labeling, and physically stocking parts.

  • Communicates with customers and internal customer service department.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

  • Provides and supports a positive work environment.

  • Responsible for profitability of company and attaining goals and objectives set forth by the Board of Directors.

  • Participates in corporate on-boarding and orientation programs.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Associate’s degree in related area of responsibility (will consider equivalent work experience).

  • Two (2) years retail store or customer service operations experience.

  • Previous Industrial Sales experience preferred.

  • Process oriented (experienced in Lean and ISO).

  • Previous leadership experience.

  • Proven success through job ownership.

  • Good PC skills (MS Office and POS/Business System).

  • Advanced customer service attributes with a passion to deliver customer excellence.

  • Valid Driver’s License with ability to travel locally 80% of the time.

  • Organizational skills required to prioritize, plan and coordinate work activities and resources in area of responsibility.

  • Strong sales and negotiation skills required to provide full support of company initiatives.

  • Analytical skills needed to identify root causes of problems, generate alternatives, draw logical conclusions and decide on appropriate course of action after careful examination of relevant information and consideration of critical business issues.

  • Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with associates, customers, business partners and management team.  Demonstrated teamwork approach with superiors, peers and subordinates utilizing skills in oral communication, active listening, written and oral directions and cooperating with and assisting others when needed.

    Working Conditions:

  • Normal business office environment with regular (up to 100% of work time) exposure to noise, dust, office equipment and supplies. 

  • Physical dexterity needed to bend, stretch, lift and reach.

  • Ability to sit or stand for extensive periods throughout the day.

  • Ability to perform basic office tasks using standard office equipment.

  • Ability to use a keyboard and computer.
