-Pruning-use hand saw and loppers to cut off branches. (15 percent) -Planting-use shovel to dig holes large enough to accommodate tree roots, back fill with soil, firm soil around tree. (5 percent) -Thinning-use hands to remove excess fruit from branches. (15 percent) -Weeding-use hands to pull weeds in berry rows, lay weeds to side of row. (3 percent) -Picking berries-use hands to pick ripe blueberries blackberries from bushes, place berries in 30 pound bucket, carry bucket (about 500 feet) to barn, weigh bucket, pour into 30 pound flats, put flats in cold storage in barn. (15 percent) -Picking peaches and apples-hand pick ripe fruit, put in 40 pound picking bag, dump bag in bins located in orchard. (25 percent) -Grading-remove culls and put in 40 pound discard boxes, put good fruit in 40 pound boxes, put boxes on pallets. (10 percent) -Processing-Chop apples into applesauce. Use cider in cider donuts. Press apples into apple cider. (10 percent) -Tractor and Forklift operation (2 percent) Minimum Job Requirements: 3 months farm labor experience. Tractor and forklift operation. Carry 40 lb. apple bags while climbing ladders. Must be able to pick 12 lbs. of blueberries hour and 400 lbs. of apples, hour
