Chatham Place is the Assisted Living / Memory Care Community that is part of Mary Wade.

The community includes 84 units, a combination of one bedroom and studio apartments. 20 units are Memory Care and the rest are traditional Assisted Living. We have a bistro, a salon/spa, a fitness center and a rooftop terrace!

Schedule: Full-Time: 40hrs per week: Ability to work to weekends, early mornings and late evenings a plus.

Hourly Rate: $17.00 to $23.00

Our Sous Chef will be responsible for providing supportive leadership to kitchen staff throughout food service cycle and provide an optimal dining experience for residents.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage all activities in the kitchen, including food preparation and production, and management and training of kitchen staff

  • Ensure efficient, cost-effective operation and profitability of food production

  • Supervise and inspect all preparation and cooking equipment on a regular basis to ensure that they are kept clean, sanitary, and in perfect operating order

  • Ensure that food products, presentation, and plating are of the highest quality, and are prepared to serve in a timely manner

  • Assume the role as Executive Chef in his or her absence

  • Assure adherence to all standards of food quality, preparation, recipes, and presentation in conjunction with the specifications

  • Monitor holding and storage operations, stocking and food rotation, and guarantee food service sanitation standards are met

  • Assure kitchen personnel is trained in best cleanliness and sanitation practices

  • Contributes to meeting the fluctuating staffing needs of the department as evidenced by flexibility in own assignments and work schedules

    Qualifications:

  • High school or GED equivalent required, formal culinary training or associate degree in culinary arts preferred; Minimum 2-5 years cooking experience in a fine dining environment and experience in a culinary leadership role preferred

  • Previous experience preferred; experience in Assisted Living a plus.

  • Strong organization and time management skills

  • Able to build positive and strong relationships with supervisors, coworkers and residents.

  • Focused and dedicated to provide excellent customer service

  • Able to handle multiple jobs and priorities
