Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity Shuttle Drivers and Chauffeurs-Conductores y choferes de transporte in New Era, Michigan
Twenty shuttle drivers and chauffeurs needed to work on general farm labor, hand harvest of apple, asparagus, cucumber, and vegetables. Workers must have the correct type of license required by State and Federals laws, and drivers responsible for transporting workers will be required to have a valid and unexpired Federal Farm Labor Contractor or Federal Farm Labor Contractor Employee Registration with driving authorization. Will be responsible for operating the vehicles used to move crops on the farm. Must be able to safely operate the buses that are used to transport workers to and from work sites. Operate forklifts and equipment used to move supplies and harvesting equipment in the field. Maintain harvest equipment. Worker will hand harvest asparagus. Harvesting apples by hand and packing. Worker will plant and/or replant as needed. clean-up activities include the sprouting, pruning, and painting of trees; debris, weed, and vine removal; irrigation repair; housing and structure cleaning and repair. Work will occur in Newaygo, Muskegon, Oceana and Kent counties, Michigan.

Work schedule is generally 36 hours per week, Monday through Saturday. Additional hours may be offered but not required.

Workers will be paid a minimum of $18.50 per hour, with the opportunity to earn more through piece rate work.
