Primary Responsibilities
Develop 3D drawings for single stage or progressive stage dies for stamping, forming, or extrusion presses according to product and knowledge of press characteristics and process limitations.
Determine sequence and number of die stages in which single or progressive cutting, punching, and forming will be accomplished and type of die sets required to produce a complete part, based on knowledge of dies, forming processes, and machines.
Draft scale drawings of each die set, delineating contours and dimensions for manufacture of die.
Observe setup and tryout of newly developed die set in production machine to determine need for redesign or readiness for production use.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent plus 8-15 years related experience required.
Engineering degree desired.
Experience with CAD layout and Unigraphics.
Must demonstrate good communication skills and ability to lead the discussion, meeting, project, etc.
Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage projects.
Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
