Silver Hill Hospital Security Officer in New Canaan, Connecticut
Safety and Security Officer: Full Time, Overnight Shift, 11:45pm - 8:00am. Per Diem positions also available.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintains Security Log with all daily activity on premises and documents with written reports any incidents or unusual occurrences.
- Performs regular patrols of the campus grounds, buildings, and patient access areas to help prevent safety risks, theft, violence, rules infractions, fire, illegal activity, and illegal entry.
- Doors and windows are checked during routine patrols to ensure they are secure. If left unlocked they are secured and noted in the security log.
- Assists all patients, visitors, and employees by directing them to requested designations.
- Responds to fire alarm activations, escorts Fire Dept to the area of activation, resets alarm, documents activation in security log and a written fire report.
- Ability to operate the electronic security equipment and various alarms.
- Responds to all alerts to provide backup to clinical staff as needed.
- Transportation of patients and staff throughout the campus as needed.
- Enforces campus speed limit and parking policies.
- Delivery of packages and mail throughout the facility
Qualifications:
- Valid Driver's License
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- State of Connecticut Security Guard Card
- Minimum 3 years experience as a security officer
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a hospital setting.
- Excellent verbal and customer service skills;
- Ability to operate electronic security equipment, CCTV, radios, etc.
- Willingness to participate in patient management.
