Overview
The School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, located on the George H. Cook Campus, is one of the largest schools of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. We pursue excellence in research, teaching, and outreach in areas of study that address the biological spectrum from molecules to ecosystems. Our emphasis is on both the fundamental sciences and the social and human dimensions. We offer 21 undergraduate majors, including plant and animal sciences, microbiology, biotechnology, agriculture and food systems, landscape architecture, food and nutritional sciences, ecology and evolution, marine science and oceanography, environmental sciences and meteorology, human ecology, entomology, and environmental economics.In addition to instruction in the classroom, field, and laboratory, our students have opportunities for experiential learning on and off campus, including a growing emphasis on international experiences through short- and long-term study abroad. Students also have access to a robust program of applied research and outreach hosted by the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station laboratories, farms, business incubators, and marine stations throughout the state.
Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Senior Program Administrator for the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences. With the hiring of a new Senior Program Administrator, the Rutgers Cooperative Extension (RCE) Water Resources Program will be able to clearly evaluate our projects and programs and document the measurable short-term, medium-term, and long-term impacts on the residents of New Jersey.Among the key duties of the position are the following:
  • Leads the strategy for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of evaluation data collection systems, embracing equitable evaluation practices and a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Plans and implements methods of collecting program data and feedback, including interviews, surveys, data systems, focus groups, and research.
  • Assembles impact statements based upon federal legislative districts, state legislative districts, and individual counties of the work being completed by the RCE Water Resources Program.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, information management or equivalent.
  • Also requires five years of relevant experience.

Certifications/Licenses
  • A valid driver's license would be required for this position; Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must have strong writing, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • Must have strong project management skills to include strong problem-solving skills, a demonstrated ability to work independently, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to engage in self-directed learning to develop new skills to address evolving project activities.
  • Ability to work effectively with guidance and instruction but without needing constant direct supervision.
  • Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to customer service are essential qualities.
  • The ability to adapt to changing circumstances and possessing an understanding of the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are required.
  • The Senior Program Administrator must be a self-starter with excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
  • The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating and implementing innovative programs that have a positive impact on the residents of New Jersey.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A master's degree in communications, marketing, information management or equivalent is preferred.
