The Department of Animal Sciences is seeking the following:
  • A qualified candidate for a Lecturer position to teach the undergraduate Advanced Equine Health & Management course (11:067:398). The Lecturer will present course material during the assigned course times, hold office hours, administer exams, assign grades and coordinate any other requirements related to course instruction. Requires a DVM or is an Equine veterinarian.

  • A qualified candidate for a Lecturer position to teach the undergraduate Animal Nutrition course (11:067:330). The Lecturer will present course material during online sessions, administer exams, assign grades and coordinate any other requirements related to course instruction. A strong background in Animal Nutrition with experience teaching on-line courses is needed. A master's degree, DVM or Ph.D. is required.

  • A qualified candidate for a Lecturer position to teach the undergraduate Companion Animal Science course (11:067:250). The Lecturer will present course material during online sessions, administer exams, assign grades and coordinate any other requirements related to course instruction. Requires a DVM or Ph.D.

  • A qualified candidate for a Lecturer position to teach the Intro to Veterinary Techniques course (11:067:210). The Lecturer will present course material during the assigned course times, hold office hours, administer exams, assign grades and coordinate any other requirements related to course instruction. Requires a Licensed/Registered Veterinary Nurse with at least 10 years of experience.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

Overview
The Department of Animal Sciences, with strong roots in the Land Grant tradition, has as its mission "to improve the health and well-being of animals, including humans, through integration of teaching, research, and outreach." Animal Science is a popular major for many students at Rutgers with over 450 students enrolled in one of the five options: Pre-veterinary Medicine/Research, Laboratory Animal Science, Equine Science, Production Animal Science, and Companion Animal Science. The curriculum provides students with the scientific knowledge, technical skills, and experience to be competitive for entrance into professional schools (veterinary, graduate, medical, etc.) or employment in animal science-related fields.
