Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Lab Tech Assistant for the Application of AI/ML methodology (deep generative modeling, DGM, using interpretable and identifiable representation learning algorithms) and a unique biological approach (platelet RNA transcriptomic/gene expression atlas of datasets derived from >2K+ patient and healthy donor specimens across the world) for the School of Engineering.Overall objective of the research is to uncover cross-functional roles of platelets (and parent megakaryocytes) in disease settings beyond their classical role in hemostasis and thrombosis (e.g. cancer, inflammation, infection).Among the key duties of the position are the following:
  • Research strategies include integrating multi-omics discovery with molecular, cellular and in vivo approaches.
  • Immediate research goals are in mechanistic characterization as well as clinical laboratory validation of platelet multi-omic signatures derived from diverse patient cohorts.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific/technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant laboratory technician or research study experience carrying out research protocols and tests, or other technical work may be substituted for the degree.
