Hyatt Area Event Sales Manager in NEW BRUNSWICK, New Jersey

The Area Event Sales Manager will bepart of the dynamic teams at the Hyatt Regency New Brunswick and the Hyatt Regency Morristown. This role is responsible for selling local events for both properties.Primary sales efforts are in Banquet Food and Beverage and includes menu planning, agenda setting and hotel meeting services. Duties also include contract review and facilitating communication before, during and post event with pertinent hotel staff to ensure a high level of service. Manager will carry specific quota for each hotel and is accountable for exceeding each quota.
Duties to include but not limited to prospecting new business, lead management, creative proposal generation with a focus of leveraging Together by Hyatt as a market differentiator, contract negotiation, conflict resolution, menu development, logistic planning, hotel tours, food tastings, client entertainment and servicing groups as business levels need.
This new role to our properties has a high level of expectations to work independently but remained balanced between to the two hotels. 2 days at each hotel and 1 work from home day is the anticipated weekly schedule, with flexibility needed based on business levels and site inspections.
Our Area Event Sales Manager is expected to be actively involved in our community, industry related organizations as well as all Hyatt associate programs.

Qualifications:
A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment while carrying positive attitude and living Hyatt’s values and mission.
A minimum of 3 years of hotel event sales and event planning with proven achievement in recent years while maintaining positive customer service satisfaction
Candidates should be extremely detail oriented, organized and be able to handle a fast-paced environment.
Must be proficient in the following computer programs: Envision sales, Envision Detailing, Event Concierge Console, Cognos, Hy-Res, Opera, Collaborative Diagramming, Sertifi, DAP, Group Bill, Planner Portal, EventBzz, Oracle, and Microsoft Office.
Ability to adapt and change in this new environment, with the ability to work independently
Preferred candidate has completed. Hyatt’s New Manager Training and Successful Selling Skills.Together by Hyatt specialist is a plus
