Robert Half Staff Accountant in New Britain, Connecticut
Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in New Britain, Connecticut. You will play a crucial role in our team by managing financial transactions, handling accounts payable and receivable, and conducting bank reconciliations. Your meticulous attention to detail and your ability to use financial software will be critical to maintaining our financial health and ensuring our financial operations run smoothly.
Responsibilities:
• Handle financial transactions and prepare journal entries
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable
• Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy
• Maintain the general ledger by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions
• Conduct month-end close procedures to ensure timely and accurate reporting
• Utilize financial software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, SAP, and Financial Edge to streamline accounting processes
• Monitor and analyze financial reports for accuracy and completeness
• Collaborate with other team members to improve financial procedures and ensure financial compliance
• Resolve financial discrepancies by analyzing account information
• Maintain financial security by following internal controls and procedures Requirements • Proven experience in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Proficiency in Bank Reconciliations
• Strong understanding of General Ledger
• Ability to manage Journal Entries
• Experience in Month End Close
• Familiarity with NetSuite software
• Proficiency in using Oracle
• Experience with QuickBooks software
• Knowledge of SAP
• Experience with Financial Edge software
• A degree in Accounting or a related field is required
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
• Strong problem-solving skills
• High level of integrity and dependability
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
