ManpowerGroup Manufacturing Supervisor in New Britain, Connecticut
Our client, located in New Britain, CT Is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to join their team. You will be part of a senior team with helping hands.
The Manufacturing Supervisor’s responsibility is to develop and maintain successful team operations for the manufacture of tape rules and/or knife blades.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
Provide teams with direction, priorities, focus and boundaries.
Provide resources and expertise in the manufacturing process, systems, training, and employee relations.
Encourage communication and feedback.
Develop and implement (or assist with) all phases of team or individualized training.
Planning: set long- and short-term production schedules for employees in the respective production areas.
Manufacturing Operations: assist in maintaining effective operating departments by controlling activity within prescribed quality standards, production levels, and cost levels, while keeping a focus on safety and manufacturing objectives.
Maintain good employee relations by applying Plant policies and guidelines and interpreting the Collective Bargaining Agreements.
Participate in the selection and training of new personnel.
Recommend process improvements, changes in equipment, tooling or manufacturing processes; submit ideas for cost savings.
Maintain required information and records necessary for efficient operations and controls.? Maintain production standards in areas of responsibility.
Promote safe work habits of subordinates and compliance with safety rules in work areas. Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
Assist in the preparation of departmental budgets when required. Help to control costs throughout the year.
Actively promote the principles of lean manufacturing; participate in Kaizen activities as required.
Comply with all Plant Environmental, Health and Safety policies and Environmental and OSHA regulatory requirements
ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High School degree or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred
3 years of supervisory/leadership experience
Familiarity with manufacturing environment required familiarity with unionized manufacturing preferred
PC knowledge/computer literate
Knowledge of production planning
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts
Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office programs
Able to physically be on the shop floor up to 90% of the shift (walking/mobility)
Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills but also the ability to work independently
Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with diverse audiences including unionized associates
Effective organizational and time management skills
AN HOURLY RATE WILL RANGE FROM $33/HR - $37/HR based on experience.
Perm salary once hired will range from $70K-80K based on experience.
