Job Description

GENERAL PURPOSE

Provide maintenance support in a variety of non-mechanical ways (i.e., not requiring mechanic certifications).

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Assist maintenance technicians or mechanics when extra hands are necessary (e.g., lifting and positioning)

· Make light structural and cosmetic repairs at the facility, plant, shop, depot, etc., as directed

· May complete repairs and replacements under the direction of a maintenance technician, mechanic or supervisor

· May wash trucks, trailers and vehicles

· Clean and sweep the facility, clean up spills, replenish supplies, and sort recyclables and move them to the proper receptacle

· May, once certified, operate a forklift or other material handling equipment

· Assist in maintaining parts and supplies inventory by reporting low supply levels to supervisor

· Monitor and assist with parts stocking

· Maintain accurate and complete records; ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible and accurate format, and completed with required information

· Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues

· Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· High school diploma or equivalent preferred

· 0 to 1 year of maintenance, construction, warehouse, or related experience

· Certification and/or License – may be required during course of employment

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

· Able to use simple maintenance tools

· Able to follow directions

· Able to work effectively in a team environment

· Able to take appropriate steps to find solutions to problems

· Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing

· Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

· Must be able to read, write and speak English
