Habitat ReStore Driver/Warehuse Team Lead

  • Employment status: Full-time; 40 hours; Tuesday through Saturday
  • Reports to: Habitat ReStore Manager
  • Reports: None
  • Cooperates closely with: Habitat ReStore Manager, Staff, Volunteer Coordinator and Volunteers

The Role:

The Habitat ReStore Driver/Warehouse Team Lead is an integral part of the Habitat for Humanity ReStore team and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse. This role coordinates the pick-up and receiving of donated items, ensuring their fast transition to the sales floor. Utilizing specialized software for inventory management, scheduling, and receipts. The Warehouse Team Lead also focuses on maintaining a safe, well-organized, and efficient warehouse environment. Central to this role is the ability to provide superior customer service, foster positive interactions with customers, donors volunteers, and act as an ambassador for the mission of Habitat for Humanity. The Warehouse Team Lead is tasked with directing and coordinating the efforts of warehouse staff and volunteers to ensure efficient operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Warehouse Safety and Organization - Ensure a warehouse environment prioritizing safety, organization, and operational efficiency. Keep facilities clean and safe in accordance with laws and regulations that apply including general safety procedures, vehicle use procedures and equipment use procedures. warehouse, sales floor, and exterior areas clean and safely arranged to eliminate hazards. Assist in completing daily safety check lists.
  • Vehicle and Driving Duties - Assist with dispatch and route planning for pickups. Drive the ReStore truck to pick up donated items. Safely handle and transport materials. Provide professional and courteous interaction with donors and the community. Ensure the truck and equipment is clean, safe, and well-maintained, keeping service records up to date.
  • Donations Inventory Management and Evaluation - Receive donated materials and ensure the fast transition of inventory to the ReStore sales floor. Maintain records and reports of donated items. Diligently screen incoming donations for safety, condition, and compliance to minimize waste.
  • Teamwork - Manage the process of acceptance of donations. Coordinate volunteer activities. Train and supervise volunteers. Attend team weekly and all-staff bi-monthly meetings. Participate in training sessions to improve skills and performance. Assist with staging and merchandising the sales floor and help with moving customer purchases.

Required Education: High School diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in warehouse management, logistics, or related fields are a plus.

Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience in warehouse, management, operations and inventory management or a similar role.
  • Awareness of safety regulations and protocols.
  • Proficiency with various power tools.
  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in using Google Workplace or similar tools and specialized inventory software.

Required Physical Abilities:

  • Able to stand on concrete floors, bend, reach, lift climb in and out of trucks throughout workday.
  • Load materials onto trucks, shelves and displays.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. of boxed and loose material, furniture, appliances and building materials.
  • Able to work with co-worker(s) to cooperatively lift and load furniture, appliances and building materials weighing 55 lbs-150 lbs.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and meet state requirements for automobile liability insurance
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check
