Manpower Engineering has been retained by an industry leading, established and growing company in New Berlin, WI on a highly visible and direct hire/permanent Plant Manager position that’s available due to continued growth and crucial to the company’s continued advancement.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for managing the manufacturing plant in WI and MI as well as maintenance for both facilities. Your role will involve understanding projects and scheduling production, forecasting production requirements, driving efficiency, improving housekeeping and safety practices, controlling overall costs, and ensuring employees are held accountable for their responsibilities.

You will play a vital role in optimizing operations, driving efficiency, ensuring quality control, and leading a skilled workforce. Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Facility Operations: Manage and supervise the manufacturing plant employees to ensure smooth operations and optimal performance.

  • Production Planning: Understand project requirements and develop comprehensive production schedules, taking into consideration both short-term and long-term goals.

  • Production Forecasting: Prepare accurate production forecasts based on customer demands, sales projections, ensuring efficient resource allocation and inventory management.

  • Efficiency Enhancement: Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, and streamline processes to maximize productivity without compromising quality standards.

  • Overtime Reduction: Implement strategies to minimize overtime hours and optimize workforce utilization, including effective scheduling and capacity planning.

  • Cost Control and P&L Management: Monitor and control overall costs associated with operations, materials, labor, and maintenance.

  • Employee Accountability: Set performance expectations and hold employees accountable for their respective roles and responsibilities. Provide coaching, feedback, and support to ensure high levels of performance and productivity.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field is a plus.

  • Experience in a similar operations management position within the manufacturing industry is a plus.

  • Engineering experience/background.

  • Experience with broach equipment. Experience working for a broach manufacturer is a plus.

  • Proven Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams, drive performance, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Project Management Abilities: Proficient in managing multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.

  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify operational bottlenecks, analyze data, and develop effective solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Excellent Communication: Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees and senior management.

  • Safety Consciousness: A commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

  • Computer Proficiency: Proficient in using computer software and systems related to production planning, inventory management, and reporting.
