This is a job for a Process Engineer - Utilities position with a company located in the New Augusta, MS area.

Your Job: Georgia Pacific has an immediate opening for a Process Engineer at our Leaf River Cellulose facility in New Augusta, MS. A successful candidate will have excellent organizational and documentation skills, be self-directed and confident in their decision-making skills.

For over 30 years, the Leaf River Mill team has been on a journey to make the best products possible for customers while doing it in new and innovative ways. With a workforce of approximately 300, the Leaf River Pulp Mill, located in New Augusta, MS is a non-union facility located in the heart of south Mississippi, just 20 miles from Hattiesburg. Leaf River Cellulose LLC is one of six mills in the GP Cellulose business. GP Cellulose is committed to environmental sustainability and stewardship through every stage of our business, using environmentally conscious production practices to maximize the use of renewable raw materials throughout our process.

What You Will Do: Support value creation efforts by analyzing process performance and developing key metrics to promote process improvement in safety, environmental, production, quality, and yield performance. Collaborate with key site and divisional personnel to value and prioritize identified opportunities and outline execution strategies accordingly. Optimize and improve process for mill utilities operations (utilities, recaust, water treatment, and wastewater operations). Develop improvement projects and work with engineering teams to implement innovative ideas. Lead the systematic troubleshooting of process-related problems and leverage root cause analysis techniques to determine the appropriate repair scope. Track and drive improvement in costs, energy, throughput, raw material consumption, and efficiency for process equipment. 

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications): Bachelor of Science in an Engineering Field. 5+ years of experience in an industrialized manufacturing environment.

What Will Put You Ahead: Industrial experience in a pulp and paper facility. Experience in utilities, power, recovery, and evaporator operations. Experience working with automated equipment in a manufacturing environment. Experience using PI for process data collection.
