The Position

Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation.

The Nevada Division of Child And Family Services (DCFS) is seeking a Staff Professional Trainee underfilling a Human Resource Analyst I. This position is located with the HR section, Carson City, NV. The incumbent will report directly to the Human Resource Analyst II. Duties will include managing all recruitment efforts Division wide; recruitment outreach, classification and compensation, providing assistance to Division executive team, management, supervisors. Additionally, incumbent will supervise a Human Resource Technician III to coordinate and ensure all documentation and distribution of personnel actions are complete; responsible for various employee relation issues, disciplinary actions, grievance responses, and participation in internal investigations. To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in any field; OR two years of journey level technical or paraprofessional experience in the field in which the applicant is to be trained.

Special Notes

The ability to travel at least 25% of the time is required.

Special Requirements

A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. This position requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.

Additional Position Criteria

This recruitment is only open to current classified employees in state service with at least six months of continuous, full-time equivalent service.
