The Position
Education Programs Directors, Supervisors, and Professionals assist and foster the growth of early childhood, pre-K, K-12, postsecondary, adult, and related education programs throughout Nevada by providing technical assistance, training, and oversight.
Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives.
Under the general direction of the Director of Finance and Operations for the State Public Charter School Authority (SPCSA), this Education Programs Supervisor position oversees, organizes, monitors, and evaluates the federal and state program grant funding for the SPCSA. This position will be responsible for review and approval of education program sub-grant applications and related claims requests; oversight of federal funds usage for compliance with law, regulation, policy and specific grant requirements; leading efforts to maximize grant opportunities; and monitoring of schools as required by law. This position will also provide training, technical assistance, and outreach regarding education grant requirements and best practices. This is a lead position that supervises a team of five staff. The ideal candidate possesses the ability to review educational performance plans; understands how schools can put together SMART goals; is familiar with education grant administration requirements; can work independently and adapt to changing standards and expectations; is diligent in pursuing grant opportunities; and has the ability to work collaboratively with partnership agencies. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Doctorate degree from an accredited university in business, economics, education, English, math, psychology, science, sociology, or closely related field and two years of professional experience in an educational program area, which included experience in at least one of the following areas related to the current vacancy: managing a program budget; leading and managing a team that supports organizational goals; evaluating a program and/or program participants for compliance purposes or outcomes; developing and implementing a vision for desired outcomes; and/or communicating with diverse stakeholders across various platforms; OR Master's degree from an accredited university in business, economics, education, English, math, psychology, science, sociology, or related field and three years of professional experience as described above; OR one year of experience as an Education Programs Professional in Nevada State service.Special Requirements
