The Position
Administrative Assistants perform a broad variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support duties in an assigned agency, program or other work unit within State government and the Nevada System of Higher Education.
PER EXECUTIVE ORDER 2024-06, ALL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS HAVE BEEN WAIVED FOR THIS POSITION UNTIL DECEMBER 31ST, 2024. Administrative Assistant II will be work under the immediate supervision of the Administrative Assistant IV in the Law Library and will be working directly with inmates. They will obtain and verify information; review mail; answer telephone calls; respond to e-mails; schedule appointments; process paperwork; have knowledge and application of procedures, regulations and standard office practices. The Administrative Assistant II position requires the ability to prioritize tasks, estimate time frames, meet deadlines, plan and use available resources and coordinate work assignments with others. They must provide quality and quantity of information and service to co-workers and external customers; answer telephones; greet customers; answer general questions; refer callers/visitors to appropriate personnel; maintain and project an approachable, open-minded attitude and respect confidentiality to ensure open, two-way communications. Work Schedule Monday-Friday, weekend, and Holidays off. This position works directly with inmates. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of clerical and administrative support experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records and files; preparing a variety of materials using a personal computer or word processor; assisting customers in completing forms and applications; and/or performing secretarial duties in support of professional staff; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.Special Requirements
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required.The Examination
