As a Direct Support Professional, you'll provide Individualized Supported Living services, which includes providing support, training, and oversight to clients in their own home and/or in the community. You may also be required to provide personal assistance, independent skill development, and community integration services as defined by the Department of Mental Health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report to and work with assigned clients according to the support schedule

  • Read and know the content of the current Individual Support Plan for each client

  • Provide support as specified in the personal plan, which may include accompaniment, performing personal hygiene tasks, etc.

  • Provide training to clients in areas such as personal hygiene, money management, safety, household skills, etc.

  • Document progress or lack of progress on goals and objectives

  • Complete detailed Residential daily notes and obtain receipts for client purchases

  • Implement emergency and safety drills with clients

  • Complete required reports and maintain relevant certifications

  • Attend meetings and specialized training as directed

  • Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED

  • One year experience in the field of intellectual/developmental disabilities or successful completion of approved training

Additional Qualifications:

  • Ability to interact and work with people effectively

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Punctuality and excellent attendance

  • Good computer skills

  • Knowledge of the field of service provision

  • Reliable means of communication and transportation

  • Skills to read, understand, and write clearly
