Westchester Plastics LLC Production Supervisor_Foreman in Nesquehoning, Pennsylvania
Description:
Member of the plant management team. Accountable for the supervision and operating results of the production shift to include manpower scheduling, efficiency, quality, safety, housekeeping, health and environmental requirements.
Qualifications:
- An undergraduate degree in an engineering, technical, or related field of study preferred or combination of education and related experience.
- A minimum of three to five years of progressive supervisory experience in a unionized manufacturing facility.
- Excellent communications (oral & written) and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem solving skills.
- Ability to interact with customers to solve problems and promote new business opportunities.
- Good judgment and the demonstrated ability to interact with hourly employees, union representatives, co-workers and managers at all levels of the organization, along with outside vendors, lawyers, and consultants.
- Strong reasoning skills and ability to analyze problems, collect and interpret data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Strong computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Email.
- Knowledge of 5s and Lean Manufacturing is a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct and coordinate activities of hourly workers engaged in operating a variety of machines used to produce plastic compounds and blends
- Accountable for meeting customer and corporate requirements through the safe and efficient operation of the plant.
- Responsible for department/shift quality, performance and safety including establishing and maintaining excellent housekeeping standards.
- Manage line staffing for each shift including scheduling of vacations, personal days, etc. for employees.
- Investigate accidents and administer safety policies and procedures.
- Monitor compliance and execution to established standards, policies, and procedures. Provide corrective coaching/counseling if/when necessary.
