Panther Creek Power Operating, LLC Maintenance Technician Power Plant in Nesquehoning, Pennsylvania
POSITION SUMMARY:
The person holding this position is responsible for maintaining the plant in good repair, troubleshooting plant problems, and developing plant technical expertise. He/she is also responsible for assisting with maintaining the plant inventory, ordering spare parts, implementing modifications to plant equipment, writing specific maintenance procedures, interacting with vendors, and planning maintenance outages. This is a 40-hour workweek, with overtime hours as needed, and one week per month on-call duty.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following is a partial listing of responsibilities:
Understands and adheres to all plant safety guidelines and procedures. Strive to maintain an injury free environment. Provides safety stewardship.
Maintains all plant equipment in top condition with assistance from other plant personnel.
Maintains a clean and safe shop and plant environment, implementing plant housekeeping standards.
4. Assists with maintenance and control of spare parts inventory.
Assists in maintaining print files, vendor files, and the equipment maintenance record.
Assists in requisitioning parts and supplies.
Maintains plant mobile equipment.
Trains and develops other employees in maintenance skills.
Participates in plant training and skill improvement/augmentation programs.
Assists in budget planning and control.
Assists in plant operation as required.
Provides leadership and job coordination on critical repairs or projects.
Performs other duties as assigned by Maintenance Manager or Facility Manager.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
The successful candidate must be dependable, trustworthy, punctual, self-motivated, and in excellent physical condition, must possess excellent communication and team skills, and be able to work overtime as necessary. Some of the tasks listed will be done with the aid of a computer, others require physical labor. Periods of prolonged standing, sitting, or walking are required. Frequent bending, stooping, stretching, in addition to lifting up to 40 pounds on a repeated basis is required. At least 3 years of experience performing similar work is required. The individual will be required to furnish all basic hand tools according to a list provided by the company. All individuals must demonstrate a strong aptitude in math, mechanical ability, and production control.
