Summary
Mission Technologies, a Division of HII, is seeking a Sim Control Operator to support a Modeling, Simulation, and Training team at the Joint Integrated Test and Training Center – Nellis (JITTC-N), Nellis, AFB, NV. The individual’s primary role is to ensure Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) Simulator is loaded and operating in proper configuration that provides simulation environment for mission execution through utilization of the Simulator Control Executive (SCE). #LI-MJ1
What you will do
Primary responsibility would be providing loading the simulators in the desired configuration, to include initial conditions such as:
Lat/Long
Altitude
Heading
Aircraft/Variant
Weapons Load
Mission Data Load (MDL)
Operator would work closely with the JSE Participants (Event Coordinator, Pilots, etc.) to ensure the configuration matches unit expectations. Additional responsibilities include starting the Global Reference Interface Domain (GRID) and Next Generation Threat Simulation (NGTS) processes, as well as troubleshooting issues with individual simulators, working with Sim Techs to verify fixes and simulator readiness. Also responsible for monitoring simulation models and processes during event execution to readily identify and troubleshoot issues.
What you must have
3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1 year relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience.
Understanding of Air Force terminology to implement/load environment that emulates realistic training.
Ability to express technical information clearly and simply to non-technical persons.
Maintains understanding/knowledge of simulation equipment, catalogs, and operation manuals. Contribute to the editing/update of operation manuals.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Work Environment: Position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required. Must be capable of working morning and evening shifts to accommodate flexible schedule training operations.
Clearance: DoD Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
Preferred Requirements
Experience in Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) preferably as an Operator/Controller
Experience operating/using Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
Military experience with aviation and combat systems.
Advanced aircraft simulator experience and scenario development.
Highly desired – Experience with JSE software components (NGTS, WSCE, DIADS, EAAGLES, GRID, Shot Log, ART, and SCE).
Physical Requirements
Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of the Systems Analyst discipline.
