About The OpportunityAssist and support the Operator in keeping the equipment running efficiently. They will be trained to operate the press to fill in the role of an operator as business dictates. They will be responsible for producing packaging products according to customer specifications. The following duties are normal for this position. The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties; however, it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned. Demonstrate commitment to safety and performs job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures. Demonstrates commitment to quality and performs job duties in adherence to GMP guidelines. Should be aware of their responsibilities and their accountability is clearly defined for key staff involved with product safety, legality, and quality systems. Understand job ticket information to determine quantity, stock specifications, special work instructions, and any other special customer requirements. Assist with the make-ready and operation of the machine. Set up the feeder and keep it running properly. Install the proper inks and/or die boards and maintain during the press run. Maintain the fountain solution levels. Stage stock in preparation to run jobs. Must be qualified to operate Toppy skid turner. Set up the coating unit with the proper coating. Adjust press throughout the run to maintain position and registration. Clean and gum the plates after the press run. Assist with the removal, replacement, and maintenance of rollers. Ability to act as a backup operator in all functions of the operator position. Assist with decisions regarding the quality of finished product. Complete required quality inspections and paperwork. Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance. Play an active role in the maintenance and cleanliness of the assigned press and surrounding work area.
