Position Summary/Description:

The Executive Director of Information Technology for the Finance and Operations Service Center of Excellence ( SCE ) leads the IT operations of the largest administrative unit on campus. Serving approximately 2,000 users across the Divisions of Finance and Operations (F&O) and Institutional Integrity and Risk Management ( IIRM ), an organization whose combined annual budget is more than $500 million, this position oversees IT operations with a campus-wide impact. The Executive Director must be an exceptional strategic planner, adept communicator, expert collaborator, and superior project manager. The incumbent of the position must have the ability to build trust, inspire confidence, and work in partnership with key business owners to transform critical business and facility operations.

This position is charged with developing and implementing the Division’s IT strategic plan, working in partnership with the University CIO and executive technology team to ensure that the SCE IT organization is a proactive, business-driven, customer focused, strategic secure organization. Key duties include:

Providing strategic direction for Application, Web, and Data Services in accordance with F&O IT, ITS , and the University’s technology strategy.

Providing leadership and direction in supporting, developing, and implementing application, web, and data services development programs by synthesizing the needs of the F&O and IIRM communities.

Overseeing strategic planning processes, budget, and policy development that enhances the integration of effective technology solutions in business units that are aligned with Division and campus business goals.

Serving as a member of the SCE Leadership Team, working to ensure that the SCE departments are performing collaboratively together to meet the needs of the customers, improving the customer experience and outcomes.

Developing, implementing, and monitoring processes and procedures for ensuring cybersecurity across the division.

Leading infrastructure planning and coordination for the Division and working with the ITS Security and Infrastructure teams to maintain a robust efficient infrastructure capable of supporting necessary business operations in a secure fashion.

Education and Experience:

Experience in performing these functions in a public research university setting is strongly preferred.
