Commander, Navy Installations SECURITY ASSISTANT (0A) in Naval Station Complex, California
Summary You will serve as a SECURITY ASSISTANT (0A) in the Navy Installation Command (CNIC) of NAVBASE SAN DIEGO SEC DET. Responsibilities You will answer telephones and give information to callers, take messages, or transfer calls to appropriate individuals. You will account for badges and their associated accesses for all government, contractor, and extended visitors through the maintenance of the badge tracking system. You will enter data into security forces database (e.g., issuance to assure eligibility, entry to the designated area identified). You will prepare documents (e.g., detailed reports, forms, and citations) to record all law enforcement incidents. You will input data accurately into the command's personnel security program database to ensure that all required Security forms are verified for completion. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Preparing and/or maintaining a variety of Visitor Control Center documents and records to support the organization; 2) Using office automation software (e.g., word processing, database, spread sheet programs) to draft documents in accordance with outlined regulations and procedures; 3) Using office equipment (e.g., personal computer, fax machine, or scanner) to perform a variety of administrative tasks; 4) Interpreting policy to ensure uniform application of regulations and processes; and 5) ) Approving access rosters and ensuring updates are posted promptly at designated access points for approved visitors.
