Military Sealift Command Human Resources Specialist (Classification) in Naval Base, Virginia

Summary You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (CLASSIFICATION) in the TOTAL FORCE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM OFFICE (N11), CIVILIAN WORKFORCE POLICY & SUSTAINMENT, RECRUITMENT, STAFFING & CIVMAR PROCESSING DIVISION (N11B), CLASSIFICATION BRANCH (N11B4) of MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND. Responsibilities You will provide complete classification management advisory services You will assess and advise management on the impact of proposed reorganizations and recommend alternative position management structures. You will conduct position classification and position management reviews of positions and organizational structures, explaining recommendations and determinations in order to defuse, resolve situations or disputes over decisions You will plan and conduct classification studies to identify short and long range position classification and position management needs. You will provide tactful advice to managers on highly difficult and controversial cases and issues. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications For the GS-13: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the {GS-12} grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in completing complex classification determinations for GS civilian positions and communicating findings to management. Experience in advising supervisors/managers on the organization structures. Experience in planning and executing reorganization efforts to better support the organization's mission. Experience in providing technical classification training to trainees and/or staff members.
