Naval Sea Systems Command TECHNICIAN in Naval Base Newport, Rhode Island

Summary This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-4 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-11 and GS-12. You will serve as a TECHNICIAN in the DEVELOPMENTAL SYSTEMS ENGINEERING BRANCH (Code 1521), SENORS AND SONAR DEPARTMENT of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV NEWPORT RI. Responsibilities You will participate and/or lead a multi-organization team in the development and execution of advanced technologies for Submarine, Surface Ship, Helicopter and Unmanned vessels. You will be responsible for the end-to-end test development of technology programs and must be knowledgeable in utilizing the Integrated Defense Acquisition, Technology and Logistics Life Cycle Management, best practices. You will be responsible for participating/ leading a team in the development of Test and Evaluation Master Plans, Test Readiness Reviews and performing Military Utility Assessments of these technologies as they transition to concept of operations. You will be responsible for leading a team in the development, installation and removal of TEMPALTs/SHIPALTs on Navy vessels. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-3 pay band (GS-09/10 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: conducting electronics technical work involving test and evaluation practices for advanced prototype and development systems as it relates to the development and execution of advanced technologies for naval vessels or associated sensor systems.
